(10-10-24) From the Superindent's Desk

Dear Bulldog Community,

As we move further into the school year, I want to highlight some key updates and reminders to help support our students' growth and success.

Attendance Awareness

Our attendance has dipped below 90 percent, which is a concern for our learning environment. Regular attendance is crucial for academic success, so please ensure your child is coming to school on time and ready to learn each day. Let’s work together to boost our attendance rate and keep our students on track!

First Quarter Grades & Teacher Communication

First-quarter grades will be released in just a couple of weeks. It’s important to stay in touch with your student’s teachers to stay informed on their progress. Regular communication will help identify areas where they may need extra support. We are here to partner with you in ensuring your student reaches their fullest potential.

Homecoming Excitement

Homecoming is just around the corner—a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with old friends and show your support for our student-athletes. Come out and cheer on our teams as they compete with school spirit and pride. We look forward to seeing you there! Homecoming weekend starts October 25th!

Bulldog Bash Success

A huge thank you to our incredible staff for hosting another successful Bulldog Bash! This event not only showcases our school community but also connects families with essential services. It’s always a great way to build relationships and strengthen our community bonds.

State Performance Data

The state will soon release our performance data from last year. While we are making progress, we recognize there is still much work to be done to help our students catch up. Your involvement is key—please make it a habit to read nightly with your student and keep them engaged in learning beyond the classroom. Together, we can help every student succeed.

Community Spotlight: CTGR Open House

Recently, I had the privilege of visiting the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde (CTGR) open house, where I toured their early childhood and early grades program. It was inspiring to see the diverse educational options our community supports for students of all ages. It’s a reminder of the importance of building a strong foundation for lifelong learning while preserving the native culture of our students.

Let’s continue to work together to make this year a successful one for all our Bulldogs!

Sincerely,

Mike Gass
