Quarantine Protocol Change

In new guidance, the CDC and our local health department, Yamhill County Public Health, said people exposed to COVID-19 who are asymptomatic can be quarantined for 10 days instead of 14, and for 7 days if they receive a negative test result. Previous guidance said all people exposed to an infected person should quarantine for 14 days. We will adopt this change and allow asymptomatic students to return to school after 7 days, with a negative test result by a licensed medical clinic or school test, collected within 48 hours before ending quarantine. We want to keep our students, staff and families healthy, but also minimize the time away from school as safely as possible.

The CDC continues to encourage everyone to wear a mask, maintain social distance, stay 6 feet apart from people who don't live with you, avoid crowds and indoor spaces and wash your hands often. This includes wearing masks to extra-curricular events hosted at the school. In order to continue to have public spectators at our events it is essential that we follow these guidelines. We appreciate your support and understanding, continuing in-person instruction and school activities is a top priority for our community!

Sincerely,

Carrie Zimbrick
