Important Letter from Superintendent
Hello Families of the Willamina School District,
Recently, we were notified that a school district employee has tested positive for COVID-19. As members of the school community, we understand that this might raise concerns and questions about how this impacts your child and family.
We are working closely with Yamhill County Health Department to respond to this news and protect the health of our community by temporarily closing all schools to in-person learning. However, distance learning will still continue as scheduled. Students that have previously been receiving in-person learning, will return December 1, to resume their normal school schedule. Meals will continue to be delivered by bus route the week of November 16-20. Please remember no meals will be delivered the week of November 23-27, the district is closed for the holiday the entire week.
The district is taking extra precautions by closing our campus to all students, November 16-30. This allows for the 14 days of quarantine for those in close contact to the staff with confirmed covid-19, as required by the Oregon Health Authority. Our maintenance crew will be conducting a thorough cleaning of all buildings throughout the district during this time as well.
Many teachers will be sending out separate messages to their students and families regarding specific distance learning expectations. While we will miss seeing students, we must be cautious in our response. We care deeply about the health and safety of our community.
Thank you,
Carrie Zimbrick
